1. What types of submissions does Behemoth Biennial accept?

Behemoth Biennial welcomes submissions of poetry, fiction, non-fiction, art, photography and comic books. Since our journal finds inspiration from Kaiju’s, we also accept artwork featuring giant monsters for potential use as cover art.

2. Are there any restrictions on content?

While we encourage diverse interpretations and styles Behemoth Biennial maintains strict editorial guidelines. We do not publish works that are AI-generated, copyrighted, offensive, or discriminatory in nature. We advocate for inclusivity and respect within our community.

3. Does my work have to have themes of monsters to be accepted?

No, your work does not have to feature Kaiju themes or old school movie Monsters to be accepted. While we have branded ourselves around the visual aesthetic of giant monsters for the magazine and website; We warmly welcome all creative works regardless of theme. Our aim is to celebrate diverse storytelling and artistic expression, so feel free to submit your unique and imaginative creations.

4. Can I submit previously published work?

Yes, we accept simultaneous submissions and previously published work. If your submission has been published elsewhere, please include appropriate details.

5. Do you charge a reading fee?

For our first issue, we are pleased to announce that there will be no reading fee for submissions. After the inaugural issue, we will implement a nominal reading fee of $5 for all future submissions. This fee helps us support the magazine and maintain the quality of our publication. We appreciate your understanding and support!

6. How often does Behemoth Biennial release its literary magazine?

Behemoth Biennial releases its main collective publication twice a year. Additionally, we have plans to launch side projects, such as showcasing the works of young artists and more. As an editorial team, we also share works created by our team to provide even more engaging content for readers to browse on our website.

7. What is the timeframe for hearing back on submissions?

The timeframe for hearing back on submissions is typically 2-4 weeks after the submission window closes for works published on our digital page. We may adjust the submission window as needed to accommodate this schedule. Please allow additional time for the release of the downloadable PDF version of the publication. 8. Do you offer digital versions of the magazine?

Yes, currently, Behemoth Biennial is available in digital format and PDF. We are also exploring the possibility of physical print for future editions.

9. Are there any plans for additional physical publications?

Yes, we are currently looking into printing services to offer physical copies for contributors and readers in later issues. We are also in the process of creating a series of physical zines that will be available for later purchase.
This zine will showcase the works of independent artists, musicians, and filmmakers interested sharing their process, adding a new dimension to our collective's offerings. Additionally, we will create special editions of zines for aspiring young writers and creators. Stay tuned on social media and the website for updates on any availability!


10. Will Behemoth Biennial host contributor readings, and how can I participate?

We're excited to bring published writers and artists from Behemoth together through virtual author readings hosted via Zoom. We regularly reach out to different writers and artists through Google surveys to gauge interest and availability for participation in these events.

To participate, simply keep an eye on your email inbox for invitations to upcoming author readings. Once you receive an invitation, follow the provided instructions to RSVP and receive the Zoom meeting link. During the event, you'll have the opportunity to listen to readings from featured contributors, engage in Q&A sessions, and connect with fellow enthusiasts of kaiju-themed literature and art.

If you're interested in being considered for future author readings, be sure to complete our Google surveys when they're sent out. Your input helps us ensure that our events are inclusive, diverse, and reflective of the vibrant creativity within our community.
